I’m the wife of a Paramedic, and mom to several kids (birth, adoption, foster). I’m also “Mimi” to one curly top little imp.
I’ve been a homeschool mom for going on 19 years now. No, I do not wear a denim jumper. (t- shirts & Jeans, ahem…)
And I milk a herd of dairy goats and sheep. I know. I know. That’s weird.
I love words, and I suppose that makes me a wordsmith type. I especially love The Word.
I write devotionals and clean romance novels. My website is www.dalynweller.com
I’m a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Northwest Christian Writers Association. I am enrolled in the Novel Academy, and devour all manner of writing craft books. I’ve always loved to write, and of course read.
I maintain this, as well as several Blogspot blogs.
Over the years I’ve written for various print magazines, online newsletters, and had some work published in a compilation book. I’ve also self-published a weekly devotional planner for adoptive moms.
I’m knee-deep in the self-study of writing craft because I’d dearly love to write well-written novels and that in some way inspire others.
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalm 107:20 NKJV
I can often be found, mocha- in -hand, reading a good historical fiction book with a few dogs and children at my feet.
We live rurally on a small horse ranch in Central Washington. There are only two horses now and the ranch has been taken over by Miniature Nubian milk goats, East Friesian and Gotland sheep. I make cheese and soap with the milk and sometimes yogurt and ice-cream. I’ve also begun spinning the fleece from my flock of sheep into artsy yarn. I’m no good at it, but it’s therapeutic.
On a productive day I work out, read with my littles and maybe ride one of my horses, or I bust out 3,000 words to meet my writing goal, and catch up the laundry.
On a not-so-productive day I curl up with my iPad and Netflix and watch Call The Midwife even though I’ve seen every episode 793 times. I’m a homebody. I have a crazy love of newborn babies, baby goats, good jeans, T-shirts, boots, mocha cappuccinos, well written books, my husband’s biceps, and Bible study.
“Seek ye out the book of the LORD, and read…” Isaiah 34:16
“Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.” Psalm 11:2
Jesus has made all the difference in my life. He saved me out of a dark and deep pit and all I know to say to you is that my life is different. I put my trust in Jesus about 24 years ago now. Things are never boring around here, I’m far from perfect, and God is always good. Sometimes I like to write about it.
